Drawing the Relationship between the Technological Level of a Manufacturing System and the Maintenance Policies

During the last decade, there has been growing interest in the application of maintenance to production control, but it is difficult to find contributions in the OR literature that are completely devoted to the interface between production control and maintenance. For these reasons we propose a simple approach that relates production control and maintenance in a very operative way. The proposed simulation approach allows the maintenance manager to choose the optimal maintenance policy in accordance with the technological level of the plant.
